Adopt-A-Highway Photos

Alex Lee (high school student) joined us on March 14, 2007. Since there seems to be a 3-year interval between photos on this page, it seemed to be time to add some more. He is a neat kid, planning to study engineering in college. I hope he doesn't get discouraged by learning that retired engineers are cleaning up litter on freeways. If you click one of these small thumbnails, a much larger image will appear.

It is now 2007. More folks have a high-speed Internet connection. So the larger images are about 200 - 300 KB.

We are tired looking at these bags,
but Alex took this photo anyway.

Here are a couple more photos. These are from the cleanup on April 24, 2004. Click on either one to see a larger version.

Was the bumper damaged before it fell off the car or after?
Can you get cash for a bumper?

Here are some photos of the first cleanup day on May 2, 2001. These are small thumbprints that load relatively quickly. To see a bigger version of the photo, just click on it. But unless you have a broadband Internet connection, be prepared to wait for the photo to download.

Here is our famous sign. It came. It went. It's back. Northbound on 85 after passing under Blossom Hill overpass. A real live opossum. We were not supposed to pick it up, but we didn't know that. The yellow garment must mean it's the boss.
Some of this work is lonely. A few of the 52 bags collected. A tired group still had enough energy to pose for this shot after the morning's work was done.
