BCAC MEETING MINUTES

December , 2001
Berryessa Community Center

Decision made at last meeting to co-sponsor Jan. 29 Mayoral & Dist. 7
candidates with Santa Clara County Community Empowerment Group, formerly
the Asian Pacific American group we worked with on redistricting.  We want the
group to be more inclusive of everyone in Berryessa and beyond.  Nancy
will publicize this meeting to our members via our agenda and at the next  meeting.

For Jan. 14 regular meeting - someone from City Parks & Recreation to discuss
current projects; library rep to update us all  on progress of new library.
Nancy to contact speakers. For Feb. 11 - we will have our candidate night
with Assembly candidates.

We will not co-sponsor one planned around same timeframe by the Empowerment
group.  Rudy will facilitate plus invite candidates.
For March 11 - citizen of the year and ethnic speaker.  We invite all
politicians also.  Bill Hughes & Jose to work on an ethnic speaker for the event.
Nancy to include form for members to nominate person at next meeting, and add to
Jan. 14 agenda.

For a membership drive, we will try to do an entire mailing of Berryessa
one time--we need a process and funding. Ray to contact Chuck Reed's
office and the Berryessa Sun to get BCAC meeting schedules included regularly.
Another potentially marketing opportunity is the quarterly publication of the
Community Center brochure (Jan - March already done).  We need to see if the
realtors could help us with this.  Bill Mulford suggested we check with Sonny Wilkins
a realtor, and/or Pat Stelwagon to get a contact.

Website has been moved to WWW.BCAC.org   Thanks Jose.  Dale to work with
Jose to see if we can tap in to some of the United Neighborhoods (UNSCC)
website's information.  Link to www.smartvoter.org will be added by Jose.
Nancy to review website with feedback on changes to Jose.  Everyone,
please give Jose input also.

We agreed that Dale owns the official membership list kept up-to-date.  He
will also keep an additional list of guests who will get 1-2 mailings
after they attend to try to get more members.  Dale will change the sign up
sheet at meetings by supplying a member list with names only.  The guest list
will have spaces for name, address, phone, and email.

The  "offsite" planning meeting at Heckman's casa, 9:30AM to 2PM, with
lunch  & an overview of our backyard train, please let Nancy know what Saturday
in January is good for you; best dates for Heckman's is Jan 19 or 26.
