Pokhara

Culture shock!!!! When we arrived in Pokhara we were shocked. After 5 months in small towns of India eating basically Indian food we were very excited to see restaurants of every type. We found a great hotel room for 200 NRps(about $3.25) that was as nice or nicer then any Motel 6 and we headed out to check out the strip. Lakeside is very westernized and geared specifically towards tourists. This normally turns us off, but we were ready for a little spoiling.

After eating sushi and cheese cake we discovered that Pokhara has even more to offer. Just a short mountain bike ride out of Lakeside the scenery is amazing. We did a lot of hiking, mountain biking, sailing, and even went paragliding. We woke up every morning excited to spend the day in the beautiful nature. We would ride our bikes down to the "German Bakery" and grab some pastries before heading to a lakeside park with an amazing view of the Annapurna range. The mountains were incredible. They seemed so close that you could reach out and touch them. Our planned few days in Pokhara quickly turned into 10 days and we wanted to stay longer, but it was time to head to Kathmandu and renew Joe's Visa.
