Well we were only planning to stay in Kathmandu long enough for Joe to renew his Visa (about 3 days), but we ended up staying
for about 1 month. It was just one thing after another the kept us there. First and foremost, we lost our beloved camera,
see our blog for more details. We decided to stay in Kathmandu to shop for a new one. Then Joe's ATM card got taken by an
ATM machine and we had to wait for a new one to be sent. Then we were just about to leave and the buses stopped running
due to rain.
All of this could seem pretty frustrating, but it all turned out for the best. Kathmandu has great internet cafes so we were able to keep in touch with our family. We found out that Sejal's mom was going to have surgery and we were able to talk to her at length about it. We decided to head home to help her through it, so we bought a round-trip ticket from Delhi to Seattle and had to book a train from Kathmandu to Delhi. |
