President

Time Commitment: 1 hr for Monthly ecology club Board mtg, add 4 hrs/month to  support ecology club.

<>Be the primary representative of the club to all outside groups.

Run monthly meetings, initiatiate and/or guide projects, appoint people to various  postions with approval of board.

Maintain contact with site administration to keep all parties up-to-date about  club goals and activities.

Ensure that the different projects are running smoothly.

Vice-President

Time Commitment: 1 hr for Monthly ecology club Board mtg, add 2 hrs/month to  support ecology club.

In absence of President, assume duties of that office.

Set and maintain agenda for monthly meetings, and send invitations/reminders for them.

Work closely with various program chairs and site administration for projects.

May contact outside guest speakers and arrange for their appearance.

Secretary

Time Commitment: 1 hr for Monthly ecology club Board mtg, add 1 hrs/month to  support ecology club.

Record minutes of club business at meetings.

Present a summarized copy of the same along with attendance record to all. Maintain these records. 

Handle logistics about  for meetings and speakers.

Treasurer

Time Commitment: 1 hr for Monthly ecology club Board mtg, add'l 1-2 hrs/month to  support ecology club.

Maintain a record of all financial transactions conducted by the club in accordance with the rules and guidelines laid down by the sponsoring San Jose IBM Club.
 
Maintain the current working inventory record of all club assets. 

Be the recipient of all dues paid by the members and work with  RESO/SVL site management for reimbursements.

Network/Community Chair

Time Commitment: 1 hr SJWIN Board bi-weekly mtg, add'l 2 hrs/month for events.

Be the contact for building mutual relationship with other internal networking groups like New Blue, SJWIN.

Represent the ecology club at EXITE camp  and other events where IBM sponsored activities.

Work with club and SVL site to build stories and projects for the On-Demand Network. Investigate IBM Communities online and set up groups where possible of people having interest in ecology.

Newsletter Chair

Time Commitment: 1 hr ecology club Board monthly mtg, add'l 1-2 hrs/month for putting together newsletter coming out every 2-3 months.

Get input from board about club activities, events, stories for the newsletter.

Contact other IBM sites about environmental stories of interest.

      Maintain dates, get site approval and ecology club signoff on newsletter.

Recycling Chair

Time Commitment: 1 hr ecology club Board monthly mtg, add'l 1-2 hrs/month for ecology club recycling activities

Size the current recycling opportunities at SVL and work to implement  more recycling where possible.

Ensure recycling activities are planned and communicated to all in advance.

      Maintain meticulous records of the progress of the recycling activities.

Site Liasion/Event-coordination Chair

Time Commitment: 1 hr SJWIN Board bi-weekly mtg, add'l 2-4 hrs/month for events.

Help board plan out major events like Earth Day, Beer and Banter, bird walks and plantings to ensure smooth running.

Co-ordinate with respective chairs to keep materials/equipment prepared in time.

Work with SVL site to ensure site publicity and help resolve issues.

Web Site Chair

Time Commitment: 1 hr ecology club Board monthly mtg, add'l 1-2 hrs/month for maintaining website

Perform activities required to support mission: maintain ecology club website and content

Keep the club website appealing, usable , maintainable.

Maintain current information and activities on website.

Wildlife Certification Chair

Time Commitment: 1 hr ecology club Board monthly mtg, add'l 2 hrs/month for ecology club wildlife certification efforts and activities.

Function as kingpin to funnel efforts/documentation to prepare for wildlife certification by site.

Work closely with SVL site management for same and to  work through issues etc.

Ensure supporting activities are planned and communicated to all in advance.
